From Chapter Five
You had someone in mind while you were reading. This is how you get the book into their hands with something of yours inside it.
I will send your person a signed copy with a note from you inside. Your words. Just the thing you would have said if you had found the right moment to say it.
This is not a marketing thing. It is just what I would have wanted someone to do for me before I figured out how to do it myself.
Work-Life Balance Is Bullshit, Chapter Five
How it works
You write the note
Tell me what you want it to say and who it is from. Say the direct thing. That is the whole point of this.
I write it out and sign the book
By hand, in the front of the copy that is going to them. Not printed, not pasted in. Which is also why there is a length limit on the note.
It shows up at their door
They open a book they did not order and find you in the front of it. You pay shipping and handling. I cover the book.
Before you start
One quick check
Signed copies at the cost of shipping are for people who have actually read the book. I cannot really verify that, so I am going to trust you with one question instead.
In Chapter Four there is one thing I had been telling people I was going to do since I was eighteen, and still had not done at thirty-two. What was it?
Have not read it yet? That is completely fine. Start here, then come back.
Your turn
Their address, and the thing you would have said. I will take it from there.
